Summit 20" Under Cabinet Ductless Retractable Range Hood

Made in the USA, Summit brings new innovation to small kitchens with the industry's first retractable range hood designed and engineered for recirculating use. Model HRTX20SSPTC is a 20" wide range hood made from 304 grade stainless steel. The retractable design and 4" height create a low profile, minimalist look that seamlessly blends into your kitchen when not in use. For maximum surface coverage, the retractable hood slides out as needed. Two oversized aluminum mesh filters with a carbon layer absorb grease, smoke, and cooking odors. This hood is equipped with two pre-installed LED light bulbs that provide convenient illumination over your cooking surface. Unlike traditional ductless ventilation, our retractable hood is not convertible: it's exclusively designed, constructed, and rigorously tested for ductless applications where there is no access to outside venting. Instead of blocking airflow with a simple baffle, the Summit engineering team has created a quieter, more efficient system with smarter technology. It utilizes a cross-flow fan to rotate horizontally, redirecting air smoothly out of the front louvers set at a slight upwards angle to ensure smoke and odors won't be directed towards the user. This maintains laminar airflow, avoiding back pressure and minimizing the noise found in converted range hoods that use axial fans. Though it operates at a lower CFM, its effective airflow outperforms traditional axial fans with a more efficient, quiet performance. This range hood ships with a pre-installed cord and NEMA 5-15P plug. We also offer ADA compliant options with separate controls to be installed according to ADA guidelines.
