Love this tea kettle but RUST!!??!!

I purchased this a few years ago and have used it almost daily since then. The problem I'm having is it about a year ago has started to rust in the spout and the inside. It it beautiful and well designed but I never would have expected it to rust. We even take time to dry it off after use.

I bought this teapot to replace an old KitchenAid kettle and I am returning this one. The silicon that was on the lid handle is gone on this one and the metal gets so hot you cannot touch it. Also, more importantly the handle on the kettle itself has a very narrow silicon strip and you must use a pot holder to pick up the kettle. It also does not whistle as loud as the older version of this pot, which is the whole reason I buy a "whistling teapot". I love the look of the kettle and the fact that you can keep the spout open, but the design flaw of the handles is bad enough to make me return it and hope they rectify these flaws soon.
