Within 2 months the finish started to chip off on the bottom of kettle and continues to do so. Contacted Kitchen Aid for warranty coverage and was told that is not covered under warranty. Very disappointing. There really is no Warranty as kitchen aid has so many blanket statements on what's not covered, nothing is covered. Apparently your not supposed to use this kettle on high heat, however it doesn't say that anywhere, except apparently hidden is some user manual. Very deceitful. If it said on the box or advertising info that you can't use on high heat or the paint finish will come off and that's not covered under warranty, Why would anyone buy this kettle. I was told that unless it stop functioning (eg doesn't boil water anymore) it's not covered under warranty.

Bought this kettle a few months ago. It is sturdy and the whistle is loud enough for me. But the metal edging on the handle is ridiculous. It gets incredibly hot and I need to use a pot holder to pick up the kettle. Furthermore I cannot refill the kettle when it is hot because the lid handle is metal too. This kettle is all form and no function. Paid $90 for a real dud.

This was a replacement for a tea kettle I bought a few years ago which was still under warranty. The mettle ring around the pour spout surprisingly fell apart. I emailed customer service and had a quick response back that they would send me a new tea kettle ASAP. I was so happy to hear this as I loved this tea kettle, I have looked at others and just not the quality that KitchenAid offers. A lot of the others would leave your fingers burnt when pouring. So I got my replacement and was sad to see that this kettle was damaged. I contacted customer service again and they apologized and sent another one. I did need to send the one that was damaged back which was free of charge for me. I received my new kettle in tip top condition and will be sending my old kettle back to them at again no cost to me. A great company and customer service to work with. Thank you!

This is our second try with this kettle. The plastic on the handle/spout lever melts, even without using a high setting to boil water. (We moved, so have used different stoves with the same result. ) Kitchen Aid is mystified, and said they've never heard of this before.
I love the look, but the design is poor.

This kettle has a poor design. After boiling water, I can not hold the handle with out a towel. It gets very hot. Also, the plastic part that lifts the little whistle part to pour the water has melt. I have put it in a box to give it out to charity. I have few kitchen aid products and I love them. But this particular kettle however, needs a better design. Other than that, the look of the kettle and the amount of time it takes for the water to boil is great. Sad, that I had to get rid of it.

Replacement for a 3QT KitchenAid Kettle that finally gave up the ghost. Love the design, however it does not whistle until the water is way above boiling point. Far too hot before it whistles in my opinion. Love the warranty on this product and the customer service is top notch.

We loved our new kettle, happy to get it as a great gift! Until the switch to push broke and now we have to balance a heavy object on the switch to get it to boil and wait until we think it is ready to pull it off. We always buy kitchenaid but this kettle unfortunately was a big disappointment.

Had to purchase on line as local stoves didn't carry this kettle. Love the shape, look, and colour. We chose the tangerine. Excellent loud whistle. Very disappointed to find out the kettle dribbles when pouring.

Hi I love the look and feel of my kitchen aid stove top kettle but the handle gets hot and when pouring the kettle dribbles water back down the outside of the spout and onto the bench, I contacted Kitchen aid Australia who were happy to replace the one i have but, wouldn't you know it they don't have a green one and they aren't importing any more. So do I purchase another from the states and take the risk that it won't leak or do I just put up with what I have??

I received this as a gift from my kids, I wish I had returned it immediately, but I loved the look and it was a welcome gift. I noticed when there was no whistle. All I hear is the sound of steam rushing through the whole, but you have to be standing right next to it to hear it. I use the kettle daily now because I switched to tea rather than coffee, I'm aggravated first thing every morning when getting ready for the day because often the water has boiled down too much by the time I get to it. I don't want to standby while having a busy morning. Kettles are meant to whistle!

So mom's flying in to visit and what arrives days before she gets here....a KitchenAid kettle. That's right. The lady couldn't live without her tea and knew we needed one. This kettle both looks and works great! The whistle is loud enough to hear, but not so ear piercing it's going to send your dogs in a tizzy. Once again, it's great quality, easy to clean, and something that will last a lifetime!

I purchased this tea kettle in Jan 2015. I was ok with the product until I recently noticed rust developing on the inside of the spout. This kettle has a design flaw that allows water to gather and sit within the spout to promote the growth of rust. My other issues, as some other reviewers have stated, is that the whistle is not very loud on this product - whether it is partially full or over half full. You also need a mitt to handle the kettle once it's hot enough. I have always been a big fan of KitchenAid products with about half of my kitchen appliances making that statement - but this simple kettle disappoints me the most. This product only has a 1 year limited warranty. For the price tag and my diligence of care, a kettle should not start rusting this early. I'm giving this one star because it is a very aesthetically pleasing addition to the kitchen stove and it is a good weight.

We are a tea drinking family. My wife purchased a Kitchen aid (KTEN20SBER) Red 2.0-Quart Kettle with Full Stainless Steel Handle and Trim Band. It is suppose to have a steam whistle, but from the very beginning, it has not whistle but once or twice. We think that the Polished Stainless Steel Thumb-Press Spout does not close tightly. The design is poor because you can burn your thumb and fingers on the thumb press and kettle lid. IT IS HIGHLY UNSAFE AND CAN BURN YOU! Looks aren't everything!

I was nervous after reading some reviews about the handle getting too hot. But I knew this was the tea kettle I wanted. I was happy to find that so far the handle has never been too hot, barely warm really. I haven't had to use a mit or anything to pick it up. I enjoy the whistle as I am known for boiling over with my last kettle. The whistle is loud so you can't ignore it. I love the size, positioning of the handle, the handle grips, and the bold blue color. The hardest part was picking what color I wanted.

I had been using a KitchenAid electric water kettle for the past two years, and I loved it! Then we moved to a mobile home with less counter space. I read the reviews on the KitchenAid stovetop kettle and was concerned about rust and the handle getting too hot. I've been using my stovetop kettle for 2.5 weeks and this is what I've found. I try to empty my kettle every night and leave the whistle cap and cover open to allow the kettle to dry out and to avoid rust issues. The unprotected portions of the handle do get hot, but if you hold the protected parts, it's fine and you can still mange pouring. The weight of the KitchenAid stovetop kettle makes it feel of good quality. It pours well and the whistle is loud enough to get your attention. I'm very happy with the quality of my purchase!

I bought this kettle because I believe in the KitchenAid brand, I have ALL their major appliances in my house. So I was not hesitant to purchase this kettle. After only 2x usage there was a burn/melted spot on the corner of the kettle!!! I know that the kettle was positioned more or less in the middle of the flame area so this is truly disappointing. I've had many other porcelain kettles in the past and I've never had this problem before!!!

A Tea Kettle to love, Kitchen Aid hits a homer!

After a good time we have come to love our Kitchen Aid 2.0 quart Tea Kettle. Cleans up well after grease splattered by it's stovetop neighbors, has shown no problems with finish being perfect still, and heats up water fast as any we have tried. It just looks so cool too. Matches our modern design kitchen with stainless steel everywhere the red kettle sets off the steel well. The ease of pouring hot water without mits is great too---no need for holders as the handles and relief cap are well insulated.

A very nice solid kettle .

The kettle is a very good looking and sturdy item. The problems I have with it both concern the handle. First, it has a fixed handle, it doesn't move, which makes it a little difficult to clean the kettle. Second, the handle is metal with silicon type inserts on the top and bottom of the handle, which is nice, but the sides are bare metal, which get hot when heating the kettle. I assumed that the inserts would protect my hand when picking up the hot kettle but the sides of the handle were too hot to grab without a potholder. This kettle was sent to me, free of charge by Kitchenaid, to review and all opinions and observations are mine alone. I like this kettle and use it regularly to heat water for tea and it looks good on the stove.

The lid is extremely hard to get off, and the fact that the handle of the tea kettle doesn't move - I smack the top of my hand on the handle. The handle gets too hot to handle, I know there is a black rubber on the handle, but enough of the metal shows that is burns the hand. You can barely hear the whistle of the tea kettle...it is on the quiet side.

I don't think that I can express how sold of a product this is. I received this at no charge to review. and honestly this is built so well it will last more than a lifetime. It is Porcelain Enameled highlighted with Stainless Steel and a Silicone grip. I thought with it's compact size that when filled to capacity it would be unbalanced when pouring. This is not the case. I filled to it's two quart capacity heated the water and with only one hand I easily used my index finger to flip open the covered spout and pour from full to empty with no stress or discomfort. The Stainless Steel lid goes on securely but removes easily for cleaning or filling. This will go perfectly with all of my other KitchenAid Appliances. Thank You KitchenAid this is definitely a Home Run.

This Kitchen Aid kettle is a beautiful addition to my other Kitchen Aid counter top appliances. It has attractive styling with choice of color and chrome accents. It fits comfortably in my hand and is easy to use. The handle grip keeps the kettle from slipping in my hand when pouring water into my French Coffee Press and the spout lid flips up easily. The top lid on the kettle has a snug fits so that no heat escapes when heating up water but not so snug that it is hard to remove from the kettle. The outside is easy to keep clean with normal hand washing in the kitchen sink. I like the fact that I can place the kettle of water on the stove and continue my housework while it heats up and whistles loud enough that I can hear it in any room of my house when it reaches full boil. I have also received many compliments on it as I have it sitting on my stove top at all times. The only disadvantage I can see is if you do not have the 7 - 8 minutes to wait for the kettle to heat up the water

This KitchenAid kettle is the nicest one I have used. The weight is good in my hand whether it is almost empty or very full. The handle is stable and the kettle is very sturdy. The removable lid makes it easy to fill the kettle and much more convenient than pouring water into the spout. Water heats quickly. And I love the color.

I bought my little red Tea Kettle almost 3 years ago,and it works beautiful,no problems at all. And as far as people complaining about rust in there tea kettles,I have had no problems with mine because i empty the water every night,and leave the lid off the kettle so it can dry out.

Teapot has areas of rust on the inside bottom and sides as well as the stainless spout and lid areas however this pot has been is service for many years. I guess nothing lasts forever however stainless steel comes in various qualities and obviously the one chosen by Kitchen Aid for this product was a compromise most likely for price.

I have had this tea pot for a couple of years now, and the inside of the pot is rusting. This indicates an issue w/the interior coating. When I contacted customer service, they offered me 20% off a new or refurbished kettle. This is not acceptable when it's obviously a product flaw.

I've had this for about 3 weeks and have used it and its the best tea kettle I've ever had, Its got plenty of metal in it as its heavy but not to heavy and the whistle is loud enough to hear but its not so loud it hurts your ears. The handle is comfortable to use.

I bought this kettle less than 2 months ago and already the lid and the band around the opening for the lid are rusted. It's stainless steel!! For the price, you expect a quality product that will last and not rust. Why wasn't a non rusting stainless steel used???
